PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE
Mental health professionals offer support and help individuals build relationships and social connections in their school community and outside a school as well. The specialists of psychological service eye to help improve the lives of people, contribute to well-being of participants in the educational process. Their goal is to teach them emotional, cognitive, and social skills to help them live and work in their communities as independently as possible through the system of psychological and pedagogical support for adaptive behavior, which assists with overcoming developmental difficulties, reducing academic and work stress, life self-determination - subject and career guidance choice.
To achieve these goals, the following programs have been implemented:
An adaptation program for newly arrived students (7th grade) – during the adaptation period, learners are offered several activities aimed at studying individual characteristics, uniting the class team, and preventing school maladjustment.
A program to strengthen parenting skills – “Strong Family” (7th grade) – includes seven training sections, and its main goal is to enhance good relationships between students and their parents.
A program “Prevention of Destructive Behavior Among Minors” (UNICEF) (8th grade) is implemented to strengthen the mental health of adolescents.
A program to reduce pre-exam stress “Staying Calm” is implemented to develop an emotionally positive attitude towards exams, self-regulation skills, and reduce anxiety conceived within school walls.
Career guidance programs “Psychotechnology of success” and “Managing the future” are designed to strengthen adaptation mechanisms of students in grades 11 and 12 through the formation of practical skills that facilitate the solution of life problems associated with changes in the surrounding reality. The program is the starting point in evolving vital adaptive qualities of a graduate.
An elective course of personal development “Be yourself and live with others” – the program is outlined for students of 7-8 grades at intellectual schools. The goal of the program is to develop personal competencies of students through enhancing their independence, personal responsibility for their actions, problem-solving skills and adaptive behavior.
