Our library

The library of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Taldykorgan works according to the rules approved by the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO dated December 13, 2018, according to the plan approved by the school administration, taking into account the sections of the general school plan. The library work is built on the principles based on school values. Therefore, the main areas of work of the school library are:

* creation of conditions for the education of an all-round intellectually and spiritually developed personality;

* implementation of informational support of the educational process at school;

* promoting the implementation of lifelong education for students and teachers;

* promoting the development of creative abilities of schoolchildren;

* development of a morally healthy personality;

* organization of library services for all school staff;

* cooperation with parents and society.

The library today is a part of the informational and educational space, which is a cultural, educational and social institution that ensures the accumulation and general availability of documentary and information resources. The skills of independent search and critical assessment of the information received should be acquired with the help of the library staff.

The strategic goal of the school library is to organize the work of the library as an educational, informational and cultural center of the school and develop the library to achieve an international level, support the implementation of the school’s mission.

The main tasks of the library: to provide library users with open and free access to information, to assist in the activities of teachers and students in research projects; teach the use of the book and other media, search, selection and critical assessment of information; develop students’ skills as an independent library and information user.

Our library consists of several zones:

Reading zone for primary school students

Here you can find fiction in the Kazakh and Russian languages. Library sessions and family reading club meetings are conducted with primary school students in this zone.

Interactive / study zone

Here students of middle and high school participate in library sessions, as well as meetings with various speakers within the “Smart Thursday” project.

Reading zone

Here fiction and non-fiction books in the Kazakh and English language are congregated. Students read books in the zone.

Research zone

Here are the resources for school subjects in Russian and fiction books in English. Students do their home tasks, prepare for tests and their projects in the zone.

Today the library is a center for creative development, where everyone can find something to their liking.

The librarians dedicate time and effort to work with readers: they advise students when choosing books, select literature, and assist in research activities. They also help students with access to resources. Thanks to access to Internet resources, the range of library and information services is significantly expanding. Consultations, trainings, webinars on the use of electronic databases such as Gale, Twig-Bilim, Bilimland, iMektep are held. Sessions on information literacy are also held for students.

One of the main priorities of the successful organization of the educational process is the full provision of students with educational books and fiction.

The library is equipped with popular science and reference books, fiction for children. The library stock is in the public domain. The educational stock is arranged in sections and alphabetically. It is located in a separate room and stored according to grades and languages of instruction. At the end of the academic year, all books are returned to the library.

In order to maintain the condition of library collections, an inventory of the library stock is carried out annually.

An automated library system SLM functions in the library, which contains such modules as:

– readers;

– library stock;

– inventory;

– reports on library stock etc.
