Students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Taldykorgan won third place and a special nomination at the world robotics championship World Robot Olympiad - 2024 in Turkey.

Kazakhstani schoolchildren won in two categories at once, among 3,500 participants from 90 countries.

The national team was represented by 13 teams. All of them are winners and prize-winners of Kazakhstan and international robotics competitions.

Inkar Kurmanbaeva and Ayim Bauyrzhankyzy, students of grades 11–12 at Taldykorgan NIS, performed in the “Future Innovators Senior” category. They designed an autonomous robot for reforestation.

In one cycle, the robot is capable of planting 60 seedlings; thanks to its tracked chassis, it can work on any soil and navigate difficult terrain.

A special nomination from the jury “Technical solution award” was awarded to another NIS Taldykorgan team - Serzhan Kadylbek and Akniet Moldakerimov.

In the “Future Innovators Junior” category, the guys also showed aerobatics. Intellectuals have built a robotic rescue boat.

The project is a prototype of a catamaran boat, which, with the help of artificial intelligence, can automatically find people left in trouble and, using sliding ladders, pull them out of the water or get them from the roof. There is a first aid kit and other first aid supplies on board the boat.

Following the results of the world robotics championship World Robot Olympiad - 2024 in Turkey, the guys noted that the trip to Izmir was truly historic.

Kazakh schoolchildren devoted months of work to assembling their robots, spending a lot of time in the laboratories of their schools. The young inventors themselves modeled the robot parts, then implemented their projects on a 3D printer and laser machines, which are equipped in school workshops.

It should be noted that Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools JSC has been the national organizer of the international robotics Olympiad World RobotOlympiad in Kazakhstan since 2014. Over 10 years, NIS has made a significant contribution to the development of robotics in the country and the achievements of domestic teams at the international level.
