The Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Taldykorgan was visited by Associate Professor of Physics at the Berlin Technical University, Udo V. Pohl. During the visit, the guest met with students as part of the Smart Thursday career guidance project.

Udo V. Pohl is a member of the German Physical Society, participated in the work of international conference committees and lectured on physics for semiconductors and epitaxy since the early 1990s. He is the author of more than 200 journal articles and conference reports, monographs "Epitaxy of Semiconductors" and ten publications in books and several patents. His current research interests include physics and epitaxy of semiconductor nanostructures and devices. At the meeting, Udo Paul shared his life experience and talked about his path to semiconductors. He spoke in great detail about the cultivation of semiconductor crystals, the quantum world and the epitaxy of semiconductors.

In his speech, he emphasized that physics combines a wide range of disciplines. There are unique and intriguing developments in every field. Most fields have strong interdisciplinary ties.

— Meeting with professors is an opportunity to gain unique knowledge outside of school. The opportunity to ask your questions live. Today I learned how quantum particles work, and how a quantum computer works. It turned out to be a very interesting lecture," Alyken Zhanerke, a student of the 11th grade, shared her impressions.
