Olympiad of Young Geologists

NIS Taldykorgan students took part in the VII International Field Olympiad of Young Geologists. According to the results of which they took the fifth place. In the team competition, Magnetometry won 2nd place, Oil and Gas 3rd place, and Akzhol Bolat took 2nd place in the individual competition. This year's Olympiad brought together 20 teams from various regions of Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. According to the organizers, interest in geology not only as a science, but also as an important branch of the economy should be an incentive for young people to further achievements and scientific discoveries. "The Olympiad of Young Geologists is an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among young talents, who in the future will become the basis and engine of geological science and industry. May this Olympiad be the first step towards great achievements and professional growth for you," said Galym Nurzhanov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zhas Geologist Corporate Foundation. The competitions of young geologists covered various disciplines, starting with the organization of field parking, ending with the search for oil and gas, as well as the compilation of a geological route. The Taldykorgan team from Nazarbayev Intellectual School, led by geography teacher Nagima Rakhmanova, is participating for the second time this year.
