Akzhol Bolat, a student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Taldykorgan, won silver at the X European Geographical Olympiad in Serbia. The European Geography Olympiad EGeO-2024 ended in Belgrade, Serbia, where Akzhol Bolat, a student of the NIS physics and Mathematics department of Taldykorgan, became the silver medalist. About 200 schoolchildren from 11 countries competed for the palm of the championship – Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Denmark and Slovenia, and Kazakhstan. The national team of Kazakhstan was led by the winner of the republican and international Olympiads Abai Duisen. It is worth noting that Arsen Sydykov, a student of the NIS chemical and biological direction of Shymkent, and Andrey Yenbakhtov, a student of the Kostanay NIS, won gold medals, as well as Kanat Serikbai from the Shymkent NIS chemical and biological direction, a silver medal. The students demonstrated excellent results and showed a high level of training. The European Geographical Olympiad (EGeO) has been held annually since 2015. Akzhol Bolat, a student of Taldykorgan NIS, is a prize-winner of a number of republican, online Olympiads in geography. There are already 6 gold and three silver in his piggy bank of achievements. — The 10th European Geographical Olympiad was held in the Kopaonik National Park in southern Serbia. During the Olympics, we made new friends, gained new knowledge and skills. The Olympiad consisted of 3 rounds, theoretical, multimedia and field rounds. The highlight of the field tour is that it took place among the mountain forests of the Kopaonik Natural Park, which I liked the most, — Akzhol Bolat, silver medalist of the European Geographical Olympiad, shared his impressions.
