As part of the Tugan Yelge Tagzym local history and research expedition, students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Taldykorgan visited the historic city of Taraz. The expedition, focused on the theme "Abai's Legacy: the history and spiritual development of the Taraz Region," allowed students to immerse themselves in the rich cultural and historical atmosphere of the region. During the tour, the children visited many historical sites, including the monument dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, the mausoleums of Aisha Bibi, Babaji Khatun and Karakhan, as well as the historical and cultural center "Shakhristan" and the mausoleum of Tekturmas. These places are not only symbols of the rich history of Taraz, but also important sites for studying the heritage of Kazakh culture. In addition, the students got acquainted with the production facilities of the city, such as the Taraz Glass Factory and the Locomotive Depot, as well as the Kazphosphate enterprise. Special attention was drawn to the creation of a shapan of assiks, which was attended by students from all corners of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. A total of 11,000 assiks were collected, of which 1,200 were brought by students from Taldykorgan. This event became part of the "Ethnoauyl" project on the theme "Abai's Spiritual Heritage: Rebirth through the art of the Asyks." The intellectual game "Abaytanu" was also held as part of the expedition, and the students explored the medieval city of Akyrtas and Nizhny Barshan. The tour continued in the Merken district, where the students got acquainted with the history of the region, visited petroglyphs, Turkic runic inscriptions, the museum of local lore and the settlements of "Merke" and "Kostobe". In Zhualynsky district, the children visited the Bauyrzhan Momyshuly museum, a cheese factory and the Burnoe Solar-1 solar power plant. The students also enjoyed nature, visiting the Koksai Canyon and the Aksu Zhabagly Nature Reserve. Sergeant Kadylbek, a 10th grade student, shared his impressions: "This expedition was incredible! We have learned a lot about the culture and history of the people." Nurali Mubarak, also a 10th grader, added: "Communication with students from Taraz was wonderful. We met new friends and learned about the rare Arsha plant, which is listed in the Red Book." Shami Togzhan, a 10th grade student, noted: "We saw the house of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, his sofa and a printing press. It was very impressive. And, of course, we were proud to win the first place in volleyball!" The expedition left vivid impressions and strengthened ties between students from different schools, allowing them to better understand and appreciate the rich heritage of their people.
