The National Olympiad in Geography and Mathematics for students of grades 9–11 (12) was held in Almaty, where students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemical and Biological Direction in Shymkent — Serikbai Kanat, Arsen Sydykov, and Mikael Pochukaev — took 1st place in Geography and were awarded gold medals!

The intellectual competition, which lasted five days, brought together 324 of the best students from across the country, who demonstrated their knowledge in both theoretical and practical rounds. Winners of the Olympiad were awarded I, II, and III degree diplomas by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, along with gold, silver, and bronze medals.

It’s also worth noting that the NIS national team earned an impressive 14 gold, 9 silver, and 5 bronze medals overall.
