Students of Shymkent-Abai NIS demonstrated outstanding performance at the “FIRST Robotics, Central Asia FIRST Championship & Drone Racing 2026”, successfully competing at the international level.

The large-scale event was held in Astana as part of the largest robotics and STEM festival in Central Asia — Alem Tech Fest 2026. The championship brought together more than 5,000 students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Estonia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.

At the Central Asia stage of the FIRST competition, our school was represented by:

* the WiNIS team in the First LEGO League (FLL) Challenge category;

* the Atomic Heart and Phantom teams in the First Technical Challenge (FTC) category.

Following the results of the championship, the Shymkent-Abai NIS team “WiNIS” became a Robot Performance Award Finalist and earned the right to represent the school at the international FIRST LEGO League Robotics Festival to be held in Burgas, Bulgaria.

In addition, NIS teams received prestigious awards in engineering design, strategic thinking, research, and team culture.
