Project of intellectuals: A new approach to teaching the history of Kazakhstan in digital format

Pupils of Nazarbayev Intellectual School received the copyright for a scientific work that plays an important role in the development of an innovative educational system. “Ұлы dala zholy” is the first domestic video game dedicated to the history of the country. The plot of the game is more than 90% based on real historical events and personalities, which allows players to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of different eras and get acquainted with the most important stages of Kazakhstan's history.

The team of game developers includes students of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics of Semey city: Ayaulym Khamitkhanova, Madi Bolatov, Alemzhan Akhmetzhanov, Alinur Tolbaev and Nurәdil Ormanov. The project was led by teachers Aikyn Isabai and Anar Tayapbergenova. Recently this work was awarded at the network stage of the Republican contest of scientific projects in Kostanai.

- During the team research we noticed that it is difficult for students to perceive traditional textbooks and text materials. Therefore, after discussing our ideas, we decided to create an interactive platform that will offer an exciting and effective way to study history,” says Ayaulym Khamitkhanova.

The intellectuals have big plans for the future. They intend to expand the content of the game by adding new historical eras and events so that players can learn more about other important periods of Kazakhstan's history and cultural heritage.
