The school debate club won the “BASTAU” tournament

At the traditional debate tournament “BASTAU” held at Alikhan Bokeykhan University, the team of our school debate club showed excellent results and took the first place.

40 teams applied for the tournament among schoolchildren, of which 28 factions made it to the finals. Our pupils Dana Aitkalieva and Aisultan Murzagazin demonstrated clear and convincing arguments, which allowed them to win the main prize.

In addition, Dana Aitkalieva was recognized as the “Best Speaker” of the tournament. Four teams from our school participated in the intellectual game, which was held in the format of the British Parliament.

Recently we have seen the school debate movement reaching a new level. Many schools and clubs in the region are actively participating in debates, and NISH Semey is no exception. Our school debate club “Ziyatker” presented four factions that demonstrated a high level of play. There were interesting resolutions on topics such as globalization, politics and culture - all of which I enjoyed very much. I hope the debate movement in the region will continue its dynamic development,” commented Aisultan, one of the winners.
