Student's success in the international arena in the game togyzkumalak

Every year the interest in our national games increases and they strengthen their positions in the international arena. This is especially true of the growing passion of young people for the game of togyzkumalak. One of such young talents is Malika Asemkhanova, a 10th grade student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey.
Thanks to her efforts and talent, she won third place at the World Cup among youth under 19 from September 26 to 30. The mental tournament was held in the Romanian city of Constanta. About 30 athletes from Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Turkey took part in the competition, which lasted four days. Games were held in the categories of Rapid and Blitz among men and women. Our student performed in the blitz category among girls.
Malika started practicing togyzkumalak at the age of only 7 years old and is already a silver medalist of Asian championships among girls up to 13-14 years old, as well as has repeatedly won prizes at national championships.
Malika Asemkhanova's achievements contribute to popularization of togyzkumalak game among young people and are an important step in promoting our national culture. The youth's passion for intellectual games will certainly lead to a new level of development of our culture.
