The U. Joldasbekov International Competition for Research Projects in Mathematics and Mechanics has concluded in Astana. The prestigious intellectual event brought together 11th and 12th-grade students who demonstrated a high level of preparation, analytical thinking, and research potential.
The competition program covered four key areas: mathematics, applied mathematics, mechanics, and mathematical methods in economics. This year, participants included winners and prize recipients of national research competitions, as well as top students from international academic contests. In total, 135 students from Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Turkey took part, presenting 99 research projects.
At the conclusion of the competition, students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey achieved outstanding results.
In the “Mathematical Methods in Economics” section, 12th-grade student Yerzat Mametaev won first place with his project FinPredict, a platform designed to forecast stock prices using artificial intelligence. In the “Applied Mathematics” section, student Moldir Sovetkhan took second place with a project focused on developing a mathematical model to identify risk factors for delays in children’s mental and speech development.
The students’ research projects were supervised by mathematics teacher Nurgazy Tursyngazin.
We congratulate our students and their supervisor on their well-deserved achievements and wish them continued success in future scientific endeavors!
