On February 4, 2026, students and teachers from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Semey (Kazakhstan) held an international cultural and educational meeting with students from Escola Secundária de Paços de Ferreira (Portugal). The event was held online and dedicated to World Read Aloud Day.

The main goal of the meeting was to promote intercultural dialogue through literature, explore the national values of both countries, and reflect on the universal human ideas expressed in the works of great authors. The students presented the works of the renowned Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev and read aloud the Nineteenth Word from The Book of Words. The participants also discussed the importance of education, life experience, and moral values.

The Portuguese students shared literary works from their national heritage. At the end of the meeting, the participants exchanged creative tasks.

The event contributed to strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and interest in each other's cultures.
