NIS Semey student wins gold at International olympiad

The 22nd International Zhautykov Olympiad has concluded in Almaty. In this prestigious intellectual competition, Akezhan Askar, a student at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Semey, won first place in computer science.
This year, 157 students competed in the computer science category. The Olympiad was held according to IOI standards, requiring participants to solve three algorithmic problems within five hours. Solutions must be implemented as computer programs and are automatically evaluated for correctness and efficiency.
Akezhan demonstrated a high level of preparation in both rounds, successfully completing challenging problems and showcasing strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and practical programming skills. His passion for the subject and dedication contributed to a significant international achievement for the school.
In total, more than 600 students from 16 countries took part in the Olympiad in mathematics, physics, and computer science. Among them were participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, India, and Uzbekistan.
