NIS Semey Teams Qualified for the Central Asia FIRST Championship 2026

On November 29–30, as part of Abay First Regional 2025, the regional stage of the championship was held, with about 250 schoolchildren from Almaty, Karaganda, as well as Zhetysu, Akmola, and Abai regions participating. Students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Semey impressed the jury with innovative robots designed to address pressing modern challenges and took the lead in several categories.

  • Robot Design Award Finalist – Welldone team: Dariya Tursynova, Safiya Nizamova, Alima Mukiyanova, Zere Yertuspayeva, Ilina Baktybayeva and Dulat Askerkhan.

  • Motivate Award – SPL team: Zhazira Zhasatay, Assel Rakhymzhanova, Aizere Muratkyzy, Balaussa Muratbekova, Aizere Sultangazina and Ayazhan Armanova.

  • Innovation Project Award Finalist – Team 505: Aikhan Amantay, Raiymbek Bolatuly, Banu Maukenova, Aisha Mursalbekova, Aibar Sabyrbekov and Amina Junussova.

The AIMA JR team, which became the Champion Award Finalist, attracted particular attention. The team consisted of Beibarys Karimov, Aliya Tolymkhanova, Yeldana Nurkamit, Gaziz Bauyrzhan, Akezhan Alimgozhin and Asanali Dzhakipov. They won a ticket to the Central Asia FIRST Championship 2026 international competition.

In addition, in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) category, Ayazhan Tanirberdi and Abzal Auken also earned the right to represent the country at this prestigious international competition.
