A unified dombra lesson entitled “Dombra – the Soul of the Nation” was held at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey. The event was part of the “100 Kuys” project and formed part of the compulsory dombra curriculum for 7th-grade students. A total of 165 students took part in the lesson.

As part of this integrated lesson, students analyzed the kuy “Kelinshек” through the lenses of mathematics, art, Kazakh language, and literature, uncovering its musical structure, imagery, and historical-artistic meaning. The event aimed to instill national values, foster a sense of national identity, and nurture personal qualities through traditional Kazakh art.

Later, 155 students performed in unison, playing kuys such as “Kenes”, “Nаr agashy”, “Zhastar bii”, “Tepenkok” and “Kelinshек” demonstrating their growing mastery of the instrument. The school’s dombra ensemble then took the stage, delivering powerful performances of pieces including “Balbyrauyn”, “Adai”, “Erke sylqym” and “Alqissa” leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

To conclude the program, outstanding 7th-grade dombra players were awarded letters of appreciation as part of the “Dombra” project.
