07 April 2025 15:11
Our school hosted a city conference of the TEDx club. The event was attended by students from Abai IT School, the Economic Lyceum, Gymnasium No. 6, General Education School-Lyceum No. 22, and our school.
The main topics of the conference addressed various important social and moral issues. On the TEDx stage, participants shared their informed opinions on topics such as “How to fight Lukism: changing perception or social environment?”, “Appearance or ability: what influences success more?”, “Is truth always good and lies always evil?”, “Selfishness or altruism: what drives the world—self-care or sacrifice for the sake of others?”, and “Artificial intelligence— a tool for progress or a threat to humanity?”, all while attempting to find comprehensive answers to these questions.
Each speech at the conference demonstrated the creative ideas, civic engagement, and innovative thinking of our future leaders. Birganym Tөleubekova, a 9th-grade student of our school, was recognized as the “Best Speaker” for her vivid and convincing speech.
The organizers of the independent platform for free expression of opinions were students from our school: Rada Kenchebaeva, Karolina Kosterina, Zhalgas Toltaev, and project coordinator Nurzhan Kasimova.
This conference became not only a place to exchange knowledge and opinions but also an important step that awakened in young people a sense of responsibility to society and a desire to change the world with new ideas.
