Education Without Borders: How Rural Schools Are Developing

29 January 2025 11:51

Teachers from the Kyzylorda NIS conducted joint open lessons in the support schools of the Zhanakorgan and Karmakshy districts, providing methodological support to rural educators.

School-lyceum No. 250 named after T. Kömekbaev in the Karmakshy district and secondary school No. 286 in the Zhanakorgan district joined the national project "Developing the Potential of Support Schools in Rural Areas" in 2023. As part of the project, material and technical equipment was upgraded, innovative classrooms were opened, and conditions were created for work in a modern format. NIS teachers regularly organize professional development events for their colleagues and support them in improving the educational process.

During the Open Doors Day, support schools shared the first results of their joint work and the national project. Demonstration lessons and master classes were held for teachers from "magnet" schools, along with individual consultations on planning, assessment, and teaching methodology. NIS mentor teachers also spoke about the organization of educational work and various projects.

"Our school is affiliated with four magnet schools. We organized a seminar for their teachers and administrators, presented the upgraded material and technical base, and shared the results of our collaboration with NIS. Throughout the year, we have participated in NIS master classes, internships, and conferences. This has inspired our teachers and enabled them to actively apply innovative technologies and best practices. As a result, the quality of education at our school has improved by 7% compared to last year, and our students are achieving success in Olympiads," noted Gulnur Baymakhanova, Deputy Director of School-Lyceum No. 250 named after T. Kömekbaev.
