Syrsunqar Bazarbaiuly, a student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Kyzylorda, claimed first place at the national creative competition “Akberen”.

A passionate promoter of folk music, Syrsunqar was recognized as the winner in the category of performance mastery on a national instrument. He delivered a virtuoso performance of Zhyenbai Zhyrau’s famous piece “Bastau” on the dombra.

“The competition was very engaging, and the level of competition was high—every participant performed exceptionally well in their categories. Last year, I won second place, and I set a goal to return and claim first place this year. Today, that dream has become a reality, and I am thrilled. “Akberen” not only fosters children’s creativity but also creates a community that unites people with shared interests,” shared Syrsunqar.

Additionally, Aya Serdaly received a special recognition diploma in the Expressive Reading category.

“Akberen” is an annual competition that brings together the most talented youth from across the country. Participants compete in six categories: oratory, expressive reading, essay writing, performance on a national instrument, aitys (improvised poetry duels), and mushaira (poetry recitation).

Last year, the Kyzylorda NIS team also earned honorable distinctions at the competition, once again demonstrating the high level of preparation of its students.
