The action “Life without sugar” in NIS

At the Intellectual School of Kyzylorda, medical service staff together with volunteers conducted a diagnostic campaign to determine blood sugar levels.

– This analysis helps to identify problems in the early stages of the metabolic syndrome, which includes diabetes mellitus, endocrine disorders, papillomas, withers, chronic fatigue, cognitive impairment, benign tumors, – explained school pediatrician Zhanat Narenova.

The students and staff of the school were examined. With the help of a glucose meter, young doctors measured glucose levels, explained the permissible limits, assessed risk factors for the development of the disease, gave individual recommendations, and conducted an explanatory conversation on proper nutrition.
