Last week, high school students met with 2025 graduates – Nursultan Alibayev, a student at Hanyang University (Korea), and Aikhan Orynbay, a student at NYU Shanghai (China). The alumni shared their experiences of applying and studying abroad, spoke about exam preparation, and discussed the unique aspects of student life in other countries.

NYU Shanghai, ranked Top 55 in the QS World Rankings 2026, is one of the three campuses of New York University, known for its rigorous academic curriculum and international environment.
Nursultan was admitted to nine top universities in Hong Kong, the USA, Korea, and Switzerland, while Aikhan received offers from 19 leading universities in Austria, China, the USA, Germany, and Russia.
They shared practical tips on preparing for STAT, IELTS, and writing compelling motivation essays.
The meeting was held as part of the Alumni Talks project, which aims to provide professional guidance and support for students choosing their future universities.
Earlier, Zarina Altybai, a 2021 graduate and current student at Yonsei University (Korea) – ranked No.1 in Korea by QS for the past 14 years – also shared her experience of studying abroad.
