A STEM fair was recently held at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Kyzylorda, showcasing innovative projects by students in grades 7-8 who presented their designs for future eco-houses and eco-towns.
These young inventors have created models of buildings equipped with cutting-edge technologies that utilize alternative energy sources. “In developing our residential complex, we focused on creating a contemporary living environment tailored to society’s needs. Our proposal includes harnessing solar energy for electricity generation, ensuring access to clean water through underground wells, and enhancing the greenery of the surroundings with an automatic canopy that fosters plant growth under the region’s unique climatic conditions. This system is both economically and environmentally sustainable, promising to enhance residents’ quality of life,” explained Aizere Zhakypbek, an 8th-grade student.
Following the competition, participants were recognized with first, second, and third-degree diplomas, as well as nominations in categories such as “Best Teamwork,” “Creative Idea,” and “Best Design.”
