Autonomous Star Seeker: Nurdauit's Engineering Invention
16 May 2025 09:09
A 7th-grade student of NIS Kyzylorda, Nurdauit Mukhtar, presented his engineering project “Autonomous Star Seeker” at the international scientific-practical conference “Science. Technology. Algorithmization. Programming”, where he won 2nd place among 375 participants in the STEM category.
The project is an autonomous telescope based on Arduino, capable of automatically pointing to a specified star and tracking its movement across the sky. The device integrates elements of physics, engineering, mathematics, and programming — the key components of STEM education.
“The jury highly praised the technical implementation, originality of the idea, and practical relevance of the project. Nurdauit’s development demonstrates how today’s school students can create real engineering solutions inspired by science and technology,” said the project supervisor Ainur Kurakbayeva.
