Field Research Lesson – A New Approach to Studying Geography

17 April 2025 09:59

At NIS Kyzylorda, geography is being studied through the integration of the subject with the educational project "Менің кіші Отаным" (My Little Homeland).

For the 9th-grade students, a field lesson was organized in the Besaryk rural district, where the students learned about the development of animal husbandry and poultry farming. The multi-profile company "Abai-Daulet" specializes in breeding cattle, ostriches, quails, chickens, geese, and pheasants. The management shared details about the challenges of increasing livestock numbers and the company’s future plans. In interviews with specialists, students discussed issues related to tourism development, infrastructure, and village greening. The students collected the necessary information for their future projects.

In the industrial center of the village, created with sponsorship support as part of the national project "Aуыл Аманаты" (Village Legacy), the students learned how work gloves, soap, national clothing, and textile products are made. These products are in demand not only in Kazakhstan but also in neighboring countries.

Marat Sarsenbay, Deputy Director of "Abai-Daulet" LLP, talked about the specialists in demand today, the innovations needed in production, and the opportunities for youth in the agro-industrial and light industries.

The field lesson provided an important opportunity for students to apply their research skills in practice, expand their understanding of rural issues, and gain inspiration for future project work.
