SOCIAL PROJECT "TEDx"
The "TEDx" project is implemented based on regulatory documents:
Educational Program of AEO “NIS” - NIS-Program (establishes 7 core values, which, as life principles, allow the student to become a harmoniously developed intellectual individual: respect, cooperation, openness, Kazakhstani patriotism and civic responsibility, labor and creativity, lifelong learning).
“NIS Student Upbringing Policy” (supports and accompanies students' social activities).
“Standard Regulations on Social Practices and Projects in the Branches of AEO Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” (regulates the purpose and objectives of the social project).
The students' activities are organized in accordance with the Law and in line with their age characteristics.
For the successful implementation of the social project, the "TEDx" club was established at the school in 2013. It is a voluntary association of students, focused on universal values and motivated by the desire to perform good deeds for the benefit of society. The club’s activities are regulated by the Program and the Club Regulations, and the club has developed its own attributes: a motto and an emblem.
HEAD OF THE CLUB – project coordinator of "TEDx," teacher-organizer-curator, Irina Stepanovna Bunina.

Translation Activities
ACHIEVEMENTS AND RESULTS OF THE CLUB:
Throughout the year, two internal NIS TEDx conferences are planned. Club meetings are held once a week, and before the conferences, meetings are scheduled individually according to the needs of the club participants. The NIS TEDx conferences focus on concepts chosen based on the themes of the club members' presentations. In the preparation of their speeches, club participants research questions using primary and secondary resources: their own observations and a review of the literature from conducted studies. The main goal of the NIS TEDx conferences is to broaden the horizons of the school’s students, disseminate the experiences of club participants, and present issues from different perspectives.
Expected Outcomes of the Club’s Work:
By the end of the course, students should:
Know:
The methodology for gathering information on a specific topic;
The basic formal-logical laws;
Techniques for constructing strategies of proof and refutation;
The main qualities of speech and the characteristics of its delivery;
Be Able to:
Construct speech logically and coherently;
Work with reliable sources to refute or confirm arguments;
Present confidently in front of an audience;
Use non-verbal means of communication.
