As part of the decade of the Az Nauryz holiday, “Shanyrak Day” is celebrated on March 17. In honor of this date, the event "Ak azemnin asyl murasy" was organized at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Petropavlovsk. Specially invited grandmothers, representatives of the republican public association "Kazakh Analary", shared with the students their knowledge about the meaning of traditional headdresses of Kazakh girls and women. They said that before marriage, girls wore takiya, shekeliq and decorated their braids with sholpas or salpynshak. Married women covered their heads with headscarves, and grandmothers wore kimonos.

Schoolgirls from the shanyraks "Magzhan Zhumabayev” and “Sabit Mukhanov” listened attentively to the guests and were filled with useful information. A national instrument, the dombra, was also played here, and the students sang a beautiful song.

The event allowed the schoolgirls to become more familiar with the cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, to understand the importance of preserving traditions and respecting them. At the end of the meeting, according to tradition, the guests were given shasha, symbolizing well-being and happiness.
