In the North Kazakhstan region, 13 basic schools and 39 low-grade magnetic schools were included in the project "Developing the potential of rural low-grade schools using digital technologies." The initiative is being implemented jointly by the Akimat of the region, the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools NGO, the Kazakhstan Khalqyna Foundation and the Foundation for Sustainable Education Development. As part of the project, schools will be equipped with new classrooms, as well as receive methodological support from support schools and Intellectual Schools.

A regional seminar-meeting was held at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Petropavlovsk, which was attended by more than 100 regional school principals, representatives of the Department of Education and methodological offices. About 500 rural teachers also joined the event remotely.

NIS experts presented reports and shared their experience. Victor Sosin, Director of NIS Petropavlovsk, revealed the role of innovation centers of Intellectual schools in improving the quality of education in the region.

As part of the project, NIS specialists will evaluate the academic achievements of more than 3,500 schoolchildren. Students in grades 4 and 8 will be tested in core subjects, and teenagers aged 13-15 will be assessed on the level of reading, mathematical and natural science literacy according to PISA international standards. Each school and each student will receive individual reports that will help identify specific measures to improve the quality of education.

Special attention is paid to management personnel, 422 school principals and their deputies will undergo psychometric testing. The results will allow us to build personalized professional development programs. Courses, seminars, webinars and internships are provided for teachers. After completing the training, teachers will continue to receive methodological and consulting support.
