Methodological Support for Rural Schools: Seminar Held in the Kurchum District

As part of the project “Developing the Capacity of Hub Schools in Rural Areas for 2024–2025”, the methodological support team of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Ust-Kamenogorsk organized a methodological seminar for the teaching staff of Kurchum Secondary School No. 4 named after N. Ostrovsky in the Kurchum District.

During the seminar, subject teachers participated in theoretical and practical training sessions covering 16 different topics aimed at improving the teaching and learning process. The sessions focused on fostering students’ personal values, vertical and horizontal curriculum planning, developing author programs, designing laboratory work, and creating STEAM-based tasks.

In addition, the seminar addressed the development of functional literacy, the use of artificial intelligence platforms in humanities and social sciences, enhancement of research skills, modern assessment approaches, and specific features of teaching Kazakh language and literature, as well as Russian language.

Teachers actively exchanged professional experience and engaged in feedback sessions within the frameworks of Lesson Study and Action Research. Valuable methodological recommendations on organizing the educational process were presented, offering high practical relevance for educators.

The seminar aimed to provide methodological support to rural school teachers, improve the quality of education, and promote the implementation of innovative teaching approaches. At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized the importance of holding such professional development activities on a regular basis.
