On February 15th of this year, the Department of Education of the West Kazakhstan Region and the "Daryn" Additional Education Center held the traditional regional debate tournament in English, "ORATORS' CUP," among students in grades 9-11. The tournament was organized with the goal of enhancing foreign language skills, developing intellectual abilities, critical thinking, discussing relevant national and global issues on an international level, and promoting the debate movement among schoolchildren.

The tournament featured 11 teams and 33 speakers, including students from 4 districts, 5 regional schools, schools from the city of Uralsk, and the Nazarbayev Intellectual School.

The tournament covered a range of relevant topics, such as the integration of subjects into educational standards, the introduction of awards for teachers based on students' academic performance, the rise in popularity of social media platforms focused on short content and their potential harm, student participation in university debate leagues, and other resolutions.

As a result of the tournament, the "HIGHEST IN THE ROOM" team from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School demonstrated excellent skills and emerged victorious. We congratulate our winners, Anel Ubishova, Akbota Kibas, Alikhan Bulekbaev, and their mentor, Sabyr Irgaliyev, on their well-deserved victory!
