Dana Tazhmukan, a 10th-grade student at NIS in Uralsk, took 3rd place in the national engineering Olympiad held in Karaganda.

This Olympiad was organized for the first time in Kazakhstan by the Karaganda Foundry and Engineering Plant in partnership with the A. Saginov Karaganda Technical University. Its goal is to popularize engineering professions, attract young people to the field, and identify the most talented among them.

The competition brought together 12 teenagers from various cities across the country, who had excelled in an online qualifying round among 182 participants. In the final stage, participants competed in both theoretical and practical engineering skills. During a blitz quiz, aspiring engineers demonstrated knowledge in chemistry, physics, industrial safety, technical drawing, materials science, and metallurgy. The practical section tested their welding skills, assembly of component parts, and development of control programs.

Dana achieved 3rd place and was awarded an Apple MacBook. She dreams of becoming an engineer and pursuing a career in the aerospace industry. Congratulations, and best of luck!

Mentor: Physics teacher Gulnara Kaidarova.
