Dana Kozhaniyaz, an 11th-grade student at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Uralsk, took third place at the traditional national competition “Abish Readings,” dedicated to honoring the creative legacy of the distinguished writer and statesman Abish Kekilbayev.
The competition is held annually in the writer’s homeland — in the Mangystau region — and brings together talented youth from all over the country. This year’s event featured four categories, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their research, creative, and linguistic skills.
Dana successfully defended her research project titled “The Emotional and Expressive Nuances of Language in the Social and Oratory Works of A. Kekilbayev.” The jury highly appreciated the depth of her work and her original approach. In her study, Dana conducted a detailed analysis of the linguistic coloration and expressive means in the writer’s works, revealing the emotional richness and artistic mastery of the language.
Her success was supported by her mentors — Kazakh language and literature teachers Zhansaule Arturovna Maksutova and Gulnur Berikovna Zhanturyeva. Thanks to their professional guidance and support, Dana was able to present her findings in a clear and scholarly manner.
This achievement is the result of hard work, creative exploration, and a sincere dedication to a profound understanding of national literature.
