The project of Aruzhan Zhanibek, a student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Kokshetau city, "Software and hardware complex for analysis of agricultural soils with centralized control 'Zheruyyk'" was awarded a gold medal and a special award for the best environment at the prestigious international competition World Youth STEM Invention Innovation (WYSII) 2025.

The competition brought together participants from more than 30 countries and created a platform for young inventors. This year's theme was "Innovative Solutions Shaping the Future".

Aruzhan started working on the project in tenth grade, inspired by the problems of agriculture in Kazakhstan.

- Last year, the country experienced serious difficulties with crop yields. This made me wonder if it was possible to create a technology that would help farmers. - notes the girl. She came up with the idea of a device that analyzes soil conditions and automatically regulates the conditions for plants.

- It monitors around the clock, collecting data on key indicators - pH, air and soil moisture, temperature, light levels. When soil moisture levels drop below normal, the system automatically turns on irrigation to bring them up to optimal levels. In this way, the device automatically adapts to the soil and the specific type of plant," the student explains. Aruzhan Zhanibek plans to patent the development and introduce the technology in agriculture:

I want this system to be available to farmers and help them increase yields without unnecessary costs. This is an important step towards a more sustainable and technological agriculture.

It is worth noting that Aruzhan is also a gold medalist at the 6th IPC International Creative Works Conference in Korea.
