Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Kokshetau celebrated its 15th anniversary

Today the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics of the city of Kokshetau celebrated its 15th anniversary. In honor of the anniversary a scientific conference on "Innovations of modern education: experiences and prospects of development", an exhibition of students' projects and a gala concert were held.
The conference presented the achievements of the school for 15 years. Teachers and scientists of the region discussed key issues of education, such as introduction of artificial intelligence, innovative methods, development of leadership skills and career guidance of students.

Marat Syrlybaev, Professor of the Higher School of Education of Nazarbayev University Duyshon Shamatov, President of the "International Center of Scientific Collaborations", member of the Global Council for Science Education (IAP SEP) Lazzat Kusainova.
- From a historical point of view, 15 years is not such a long time. Nevertheless, these years have been full of achievements and important events. Due to its high achievements the school occupies a special place not only in the NIS system, but also in the national sphere of education. Our main mission is to spread experience and best practices. In this direction we are greatly supported by the staff of the school, - said Anuar Zhangozin.
Founded on September 1, 2009, the school has become the center of innovative education in the region. Today, there are 745 students studying in 67 classrooms, including specialized rooms for mathematics, STEM, robotics, physics, chemistry and biology. The school also has a small and large gymnasium, a soccer field and two libraries equipped with everything necessary for a quality educational process.
One of the main goals of the school is to be integrated into the international educational space. Teachers and students have access to the global databases GALE, Scopus, Web of Science and Wiley. The NIS program, developed in cooperation with Cambridge University, combines Kazakh and international standards of education.
The school has twice confirmed its international accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS) - in 2017 and 2023. Students actively cooperate with such international schools as Wapping High School in the UK, Purwanchal Vidyamandir in India, and Szkoła Podstawowa nr 43 in Poland.
For 15 years more than 900 graduates have continued their studies in prestigious universities of Kazakhstan and abroad. Among them are Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan-British Technical University, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, universities of Great Britain, Canada, China, South Korea and many other countries. Graduates of the school successfully work in such international companies as Ernst&Young, Yandex, Google, Exxon Mobil.
NIS Kokshetau is also an important methodological center of the region. The school provides methodological support to 6 reference schools of Akmola region.
Students of the school actively participate in national and international competitions, Olympiads and conferences. In 2020 and 2023 students of the school Ilyas Umurbekov and Asylkhan Kali were selected to the republican team and presented their scientific projects at the international competition REGENERON ISEF in the USA. In 2023, students Asanali Karim and Diasali Karim became winners of the international competition of social projects RISE Global Challenge and received grants in the amount of $ 500,000. In 2024, student Aruzhan Zhanibek participated in an international conference in Seoul, Korea, where she won a gold medal for the best research paper.
NIS Kokshetau remains a leader in innovative education and international cooperation, shaping the future of its students and developing the potential of the region's education system.
