NIS Kokshetau Students Obtain Copyright
24 December 2025 16:32
Students of NIS Kokshetau have obtained copyright for their own development in the field of artificial intelligence. Under the guidance of computer science teacher Anara Kapanayeva, a team of students successfully implemented an innovative project titled “Early Diagnosis of Diseases in Chickens Using AI.”
“Every project begins with a problem. Each year, the poultry industry loses around 10 million dollars, and this is the core issue. Farmers are unable to detect diseases in time and diagnose them early, which leads to outbreaks when it is already too late to change anything,” notes project participant Kamshat Kosar.
“The device includes a regular camera and a thermal camera. Both record temperature and take images of each chicken individually. All the data is transmitted to a processing board, where computer calculations are used to predict the health condition of each bird,” explains Mansur Ydyrys.
Thus, the system determines the health status of chickens based on external indicators, temperature, and activity levels.
The project was developed by 10th-grade students Mansur Ydyrys and Kamshat Kosar, along with their teammates—10th graders Daria Seitjan, Damelya Zhanbyrshy, Yusuf Zharkyn, and 9th-grade student Inayat Rakhmetullina. The project received high praise for its technological sophistication, scientific approach, and strong practical potential for application in agriculture.
With this project, the team also won first place in the IT category at the Aqmola Power competition, confirming the high level of preparation and regional competitiveness of their idea.
Obtaining copyright and winning the competition became significant milestones in the project’s development and a clear demonstration that school initiatives can grow into real, applied solutions востребованные in the country’s economy and agricultural sector.
