Global Scholars: How students are solving environmental problems

NIS Kokshetau hosted an event organized as part of the Global Scholars international exchange program. The event was attended by 8th grade students who joined their peers from different cities around the world to discuss current environmental issues.

The Global Scholars program is a virtual exchange for students between the ages of 10 and 13 in cities around the world. Its goal is to develop global competence and encourage young people to solve world problems through local action.

The theme of the meeting was "Fighting Plastic. Students discussed the impact of plastic pollution on the environment and human health, and proposed ways to solve the problem in our school. Among the ideas were: organizing plastic collection drives, conducting information campaigns, and introducing the practice of refusing single-use plastics.
