The success of NIS students at IOAA 2025

Students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools won prizes at the 18th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), which was held in Mumbai, India. Sheruen Batyrkhan, a student of NIS Atyrau, and Azamat Aitmuratov, a student of NIS Medeu district of Almaty, won two bronze medals.
Damir Kurman, a student of the Nura Intellectual School in Astana, was awarded a Certificate of Honor. This year's Olympiad brought together about 270 schoolchildren from 64 countries, who competed in four main rounds: theoretical, observational and analytical, as well as in the team competition. I
t should be noted that the International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics is considered one of the most prestigious scientific competitions for high school students. It is designed to support future scientists and researchers by giving them the opportunity to improve their knowledge on a global level.
