Experience Broadcast

Translation of experience: methodological support for schools

As part of the broadcast of the experience, Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Astana (IB) actively supports cooperation with reference schools such as KSU Alikhan Bokeikhan Reference School (Osakarovka) and A. Bokeikhan Gymnasium (Temirtau). During the methodological support for the period September-December 2023, key activities aimed at the professional development of teachers and the improvement of the educational process were carried out.

In the period from January to May 2024, Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Astana (IB) continued its work to support the support schools in Osakarovka and Temirtau as part of the broadcast of pedagogical experience. One of the key events was a field meeting with the teaching staff of KSU "Alikhan Bokeikhan Reference School" and KSU "A. Bokeikhan Gymnasium", the purpose of which was constructive feedback and discussion of further cooperation.


Events:

  1. Field meetings with the administration and teachers of schools, familiarization with the infrastructure and equipment to improve the quality of the educational process.

  2. A round table with teachers and heads of departments to discuss their professional needs and plan joint work.

  3. Informational meetings with parents of 6th grade students to clarify the conditions of admission to the NIS.

  4. Open lessons in mathematics, physical education and English, where teachers demonstrated the skills of a student-centered approach, the development of critical thinking and teamwork.

  5. Trainings and workshops on teacher welfare, developed by a school psychologist, and activities to develop team spirit through sports.

  6. Extracurricular activities with an emphasis on developing interest in reading and cultural education of students, which were held in an interactive format.


Interim results

  • A productive round table was held at which teachers expressed their needs, in particular, requests for training in active teaching methods and project activities.

  • A plan for further cooperation has been developed, responsible persons and deadlines for the implementation of measures have been identified.

  • The conditions and infrastructure of the support schools, including the availability of modern technologies for a high-quality educational process, were positively assessed.


Future plans:

  • To increase the effectiveness of methodological support, it is planned:

  • To continue field meetings for a deeper study of the needs of schools.

  • To strengthen the active participation of both parties in the planning of events.

  • Clearly record conclusions based on the results of meetings and monitor their implementation.

  • Continuation of work on the implementation of the recommendations received during the feedback and the development of new approaches in training.

  • In-depth attention to teaching methods that promote active student engagement.

  • Further cooperation with the support schools to share experiences and implement the KiVa anti-bullying program.


The experience continues to be broadcast, with an emphasis on developing the competencies of teachers and improving the level of education in partner schools.
