On February 13, the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana hosted a session of the "SÖYLESAY" discussion club as part of the NIS network community. The event was organized by the school's Kazakh language and literature department. The discussion was held in an online format and was joined by teams of 9th–10th grade students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools of Chemistry and Biology in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Shymkent, under the guidance of their Kazakh language and literature teachers.
The "SÖYLESAY" discussion club was established to promote the use of the Kazakh language and develop speaking skills through discussions on pressing social issues, as well as an analysis of global and national news and trends. During the session, students from Ust-Kamenogorsk presented on the topics of "Reading Culture" and "Essentialism", while participants from Shymkent discussed "Emotional Intelligence" and "Snobbery". Meanwhile, students from our school explored "Perfectionism" and "Kaizen Philosophy".
The participants showed great enthusiasm in discussing societal issues, examining the topics from various perspectives. They demonstrated strong communication skills, the ability to engage the audience, and persuasive speaking, supporting their arguments with real-life examples. The event organizers, Gulnar Kenesbekovna and Anargul Seitkalievna, expressed their gratitude to the students and mentors and shared their confidence that such network meetings will continue in the future.
