On February 22, curator’s hour for 12C students was held on the “100 Books” project on the topic “Together we will open new world with a good book.” 12th grade students chose their favorite books from the list of “100 books”, prepared presentations and shared their impressions after reading these works. At the beginning, curator Eshchanova Zita Radjabovna spoke about her favorite book - the science fiction story by Daniel Keyes - “Flowers for Algernon”. Continuing the curator’s hour, students Mukhametkali Dina, Bugybayeva Damira, Atpay Aizere, Akhmet Ayaulym, Alisheva Saltanat, and Kazbek Alua shared their impressions of the books they had read. Books from the project are - the humorous science fiction novel “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy " by the English writer Douglas Adams; the autobiographical novel "Martin Eden" by Jack London; an autobiographical story "The Photo I'm Not in which" by Viktor Astafiev; the first novel written in the Kazakh language "Bakytsyz Zhamal" by Mirzhakyp Dulatov; the dystopian novel “1984” by George Orwell; drama “Sister” by Dulat Isabekov. At the end of each presentation, students shared their opinion about each book and voted on whether the book was interesting for them and whether they would read it in the near future. Carrying out such events enhances children's reading literacy and interest in reading.
