The 3rd Republican Training Camp for Young Geologists, held in Astana, has successfully concluded. For one week, students from Astana, Karaganda, Shymkent, Taraz, Taldykorgan, and Kostanay explored the fundamentals of geological science and enhanced their practical skills.

During the camp, participants attended lectures delivered by leading scientists and industry experts on mineralogy, hydrology, magnetometry, plate tectonics, and geological field routes. They also took part in practical sessions on compass use, azimuth determination, map navigation, field journal keeping, tent setup, and first aid.

The magnetometry sessions were conducted by Zharmukash Merey Zhumagazyuly and Artem Kravtsov, who introduced participants to modern geophysical research methods.

The main objective of the camp was to prepare young geologists for international Olympiads, deepen their theoretical knowledge, and foster interest in scientific research.
