Recently, the first-ever congress of school debate clubs was held in the capital. The first national debate congress was organized by the Ozgerteam public foundation. During the congress, debaters discussed the pressing issues of the development of the debate movement in the country and summarized the year.
Also, during the event, the winners of the final round of the Sanaly Orta national competition were awarded. As a result, the "Aiteke" debate club from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktobe took third place. From Aktobe, NIS history teacher Askar Bisenqaliyev and the club president Yasmin Aymukhanova participated in the congress.
"We had an amazing experience at the debate congress. We met and shared ideas with debaters from all over the country. In the future, we plan to hold joint tournaments. We also want to contribute to the development of the debate movement in our region," said Askar Bisenqaliyev.
At the end of the event, the delegates supported the idea of unofficially designating December 12 as Debate Day and expressed their intention to continue this tradition annually.
It is worth noting that the "Aiteke" debate club was founded at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktobe in 2021. Currently, the club has around 80 students.
