The hackathon HackTheBookShelf, organized jointly with the Karaganda Regional Universal Scientific Library named after N.V. Gogol, has ended in the IT hub "Terricon Valley". 65 teams took part in the competition, which over the course of three days developed digital solutions for the modernization of one of the oldest libraries in the region.
The winners were the teams that presented the best projects in two categories: the development of an online platform and a mobile application.
In the nomination "development of an online platform", the second place was taken by a team of students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Aktobe: Kerey Berdyshev, Abdulaziz Gabitov, Alikhan Baglanov, Maxim Kosov, Jafar Mazhitov and Dair Syrlybaev, all of them 11th grade students. For the creation of the website, the team received 200,000 tenge from the organizers of the hackathon.
The students plan to use their developments to digitalize Aktobe libraries and are considering the possibility of monetizing the project.
