Student of NIS in Aktobe Aidarkhan Zhubatkhan won a silver medal at the International Economics Olympiad

The Kazakhstan team ranked among the top ten countries at the International Economics Olympiad (IEO). Three of the five participants from the national team are students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.

Aidarkhan Zhubatkhan from NIS in Aktobe secured the silver medal, while Tomiris Ydyrysbayeva from the Intellectual School in Astana and Batyrkhan Mukhtarkhan from NIS Karaganda earned bronze medals.

It is worth noting that this year the International Economics Olympiad was held in Hong Kong, with over 250 students from 53 countries participating. In 2023, the Kazakhstan team placed 21st overall and 22nd in the business case category. This year, the students achieved a top ten position and ranked among the top seven teams in the business case category. This success was made possible due to the selection process and training camps conducted for the first time among the economics olympiad reserve.
