On August 3rd, Daulet Shakan, a 10B-grade student at NIS Aktobe, won a bronze medal at the prestigious Asia International Mathematical Olympiad (AIMO), held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. AIMO is one of the largest and most competitive math competitions for school students in Asia and beyond.
Daulet’s journey to the finals began with an online qualifying round, where he achieved the highest score and secured 1st place, earning his spot in the international stage.
AIMO is held annually in various countries — including Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea. This year, the final brought together around 2,000 participants from all over the world in Tokyo.
For Daulet, the Olympiad was not only a test of academic skill but also a valuable opportunity to sharpen his critical thinking, exchange knowledge, and make friends from different countries.
The official representative and organizer of AIMO in Kazakhstan is the Innovation Science and Education Center.
Congratulations to Daulet on this remarkable achievement! We wish him continued success and many new heights ahead!
