"Tugan Elge Tagzym – 2025": A Week of Learning, Exploration, and Inspiration

16 June 2025 09:16

This past week, Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktobe proudly hosted the participants of the nationwide research and local history project "Tugan Elge Tagzym." This year, students from NIS schools in Astana, Taraz, and Oskemen took part in the expedition across the Aktobe region.

The project offered students a unique opportunity to explore the rich history, culture, and natural heritage of Kazakhstan while developing their research and critical thinking skills.

Throughout the week, participants:
– visited historical monuments and memorials dedicated to legendary figures such as Bökenbay Batyr, Abylai Khan, and Aliya Moldagulova;
– explored the symbolic Mausoleum of Koblandy Batyr;
– toured the Aktobe Rail and Beam Plant — a major industrial hub in the region;
– learned about the health benefits of maral antlers and pantotherapy treatments at the "Zaru" health resort;
– discovered rare artifacts and the cultural heritage of Aktobe at the Regional History Museum;
– wrapped up the journey at the Aktobe Planetarium, followed by a warm and festive closing ceremony.

The experience brought history and industry to life, ignited curiosity, and inspired many students to think more deeply about their future and their role in preserving national heritage.

During the final ceremony, each team presented a creative musical performance and participated in the Quiz Uı intellectual contest:
1st Place – NIS Astana
2nd Place – NIS Taraz
3rd Place – NIS Oskemen

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm and respect for Kazakhstan’s heritage — and a special thank-you to NIS Aktobe for the warm welcome and incredible hospitality!
