At the national stage of the “Reading and Mathematical Literacy: Successful Synergy” contest held in Astana, 200 teachers from across the country participated — 100 Kazakh language teachers and 100 mathematics teachers. The Aktobe region team included 10 educators, both Kazakh language and math specialists. Among them was Marziya Tanjarykova, a Kazakh language teacher from Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktobe.
Marziya Syrlybayqyzy took part in the paired competition alongside Marat Nazhmadinov, a mathematics teacher from the Aktobe Regional Specialized Physics and Mathematics Boarding Lyceum. Together, they earned an honorable second place in their category.
All participating teachers underwent a preliminary selection process, which included assessments of reading literacy and logical thinking. During the contest, participants completed tasks in three subjects: Kazakh language, Kazakh literature, and mathematics.
In the first round, teachers had to answer 50 questions in their respective specialties. In the second round, regional teams competed by solving 120 logic-based tasks.
It’s worth noting that the Aktobe region team placed third overall in the team standings.
The contest aimed to enhance teachers’ potential, develop logical thinking, and strengthen skills in accurate calculation. For the first time, it was conducted in a competitive format on a large national stage.
