Seminar-Training on the Topic: "Lesson Study – an Effective Way to Improve Practice"

The Regional Methodological Center under the Department of Education organized a seminar-training on the topic “Lesson Study – an Effective Way to Improve Practice” at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Aktobe. The goal of the seminar-training was to familiarize participants with the concept of Lesson Study, its advantages, and its application in teaching practice.

During the training, a series of panoramic lessons based on the Lesson Study methodology were prepared for the participants. These lessons play an important role in the professional development of teachers, fostering their creativity and improving the quality of the educational process.

Thus, teachers were introduced to the key principles and stages of Lesson Study, namely: joint lesson planning, lesson observation, joint lesson analysis, lesson preparation and planning, lesson implementation, observation, and analysis.

Physical education teachers from NIS demonstrated lessons with students on the topic: “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Team Games from the Perspective of Strategy and Cooperation.” The goal of these lessons was to develop critical thinking skills by analyzing team strategies and the effectiveness of interaction. Seminar participants learned about conducting team games and analyzing successful and unsuccessful decisions made during the game.

After that, participants, divided into groups, developed their own lessons. During the practical part of the seminar, groups discussed ideas and exchanged experiences.
