Schoolchildren from Aktau invent new glasses for the blind
Nurlybek Ondagan and Myrzaali Asanov, students of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktau, have invented a new type of glasses for the blind society.
According to statistics, there are more than 300 million visually impaired people in the world. The glasses called "DolphEYE" prevent inconveniences in the daily life of blind people. These glasses allow a blind person to get from point A to point B smoothly.
- The main goal of any scientific research should be combined with the prevention or solution of current social problems. So while last year's project was about the "little people" in society, my next project focused on preventing blind people from being inconvenienced in their daily lives. I believe that DolphEYE glasses, realized with the support of our leader Ibala Talgatkina, will be of great help to the society of blind people of the world," says the author of the project Nurlybek Ondagan.
According to the author of the project Myrzaali Asanov, our goal is not to push blind people away from society, to create opportunities for them to live comfortably in society, despite the complex problems.
- DolphEYE glasses are created not only to help blind people to move comfortably in everyday life, but also to solve the problem of "complexity" in society. To achieve this solution, Nurlybek and I used special applications together with the Arduino Nano board. Arduino Nano board can transmit information about an obstacle - Myrzaali Asanov
This project was recognized as the best "DolphEYE" project in physics at the competition of online research projects among students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools on general subjects, held in Astana, and won first place.
