9th-grade NIS student from Aktau, Aysulu Bekzat, wins in the international XIV “Ocean Awareness” (BOW SEAT) competition

Aysulu Bekzat, a 9th-grade student of NIS in Aktau, won an honorable mention and a cash prize in the international competition XIV “Ocean Awareness” (BOW SEAT). Her work was evaluated in the category "Visual Arts and Crafts."

Ocean Awareness Programs BOW SEAT is an international program that inspires teenagers aged 11 to 18 to understand environmental issues through creativity and become global citizens who positively influence change in the environment.

Aysulu presented her creative project on the topic “Climate Change and its Impact on the Caspian Sea.” In her work, she analyzed the consequences of climate change on the Caspian Sea and raised important ecological issues. This year, over 5,200 young talents from different countries participated in the competition.

Aysulu’s achievement is a clear example of the school's core values — the principle of global citizenship and the pursuit of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Special recognition goes to her mentor, history teacher Guljanat Toregalykyzy Kurmanova, who played a crucial role in guiding her to this creative victory.
